Polygon’s Madic to Paul Token Swap: What You Need to Know
Hey guys, Crypt Foxy here, and welcome back to my channel! Today, we’re diving into the exciting world of Polygon, as they’re about to undergo a significant transformation. Starting September 4th, Polygon will be migrating from Madic (MATIC) to Paul, a new token that will serve as the native gas and staking asset for the Polygon Proof of Stake (PoS) blockchain.
The good news is that if you’re holding Madic on the Polygon PoS blockchain, you won’t need to take any action ā your tokens will be automatically upgraded to Paul. However, if you’re holding Madic on Ethereum’s ZK EVM platform or centralized exchanges, you’ll need to take steps to upgrade to Paul. The team has provided instructions on how to do this, including sending tokens to a migration contract or using a decentralized exchange (DEX) or DEX aggregator.
One thing to keep in mind is that centralized exchanges will need to communicate their plans to users, and a deadline for completing the swap has not yet been set. However, the community will have the power to establish a deadline in the future.
Overall, this is an exciting development for Polygon, which has been a sleeping giant in the cryptocurrency space. With the introduction of Paul, Polygon is poised to become an even more robust and scalable platform.
