Latest Smart Home Gadgets of CES 2025
The Consumer Electronics Show (CES) 2025 has just wrapped up, and it was a wild ride! As a Web 3 DeFi tech editor, I had the privilege to explore the exhibition and share with you the most exciting smart home gadget highlights from top brands like Shelly, SwitchBot, and more.
At Shelly, I saw their brand-new Gen 4 lineup, which has updated their product line to support Zigby and Matter protocols. This means users can choose between Wi-Fi or Zigby connectivity, making it easy to set up and control their smart devices. I also got to test their new battery-powered presence sensor with buttons on top for sensitivity adjustment, which is pretty cool.
SwitchBot revealed an impressive arsenal of new products, including a battery-powered presence sensor, zet switch turns, and a Matter-enabled keyboard for smart home automation. I was particularly impressed by their G5 Pro camera, which features RTSP support, internal storage, and facial detection capabilities.
Other notable mentions include:
- Ai dot, which is jumping into the market with a $5 Matter smart bulb in Walmart stores.
- Lincoln, which has killed off LinX and shifted focus to Matter and Wi-Fi connectivity.
- Slox, which showcased their new outdoor TV that uses water spraying to ensure brightness.
- Roborock, which has updated their lawnmower to auto-draw yard boundaries and eliminate user training.
- Motion, which has released a new model that eliminates yard boundary training and includes an arm for picking up toys and other objects.
It’s clear that the smart home industry is shifting towards Matter, Zigby, and other protocols. The [CES] experience was still exciting, despite smaller booths and a more subdued atmosphere. As prices continue to drop and innovation increases, we can expect to see more affordable, accessible smart home solutions in the future. Stay tuned for more updates from the world of smart home gadgets!
