NFT creators, secure your collection’s art the right way. Learn how to store and pin your NFT media (JPEGs, PNGs, MP4s, and more) on Jackal while keeping them pinned to IPFS with Jackal Pin—a truly decentralized, secure, storage solution.
Presented by Jackal CTO Marston Connell (@MarstonConnell), this tutorial walks you through step-by-step how to:
Store NFT collection assets securely on Jackal
Pin, distributed on IPFS for decentralized accessibility.
Avoid the risks of centralized cloud storage.
Future-proof your NFTs with censorship-resistant storage.
Why Jackal Pin?
-Decentralized and self-custodial (You control your files, not Big Cloud)
-Geo-distributed for resilience (Your NFT art stays online, always)
-Easy IPFS integration (No manual pinning headaches)
-Watch this tutorial to ensure your NFT collection’s art is safe, verifiable, and permanently accessible.

How to Store & Pin NFT Art on IPFS with Jackal | Jackal Pin Tutorial
In this tutorial, Marsten, CTO at Jackal Labs, introduces us to Jackal Pin, an IPFS pinning service built on top of the Jackal protocol. This service combines the security and decentralization of the Jackal protocol with the speed and distribution of the IPFS network. Marsten guides us through the process of uploading NFT collections, images, and metadata to Jackal Pin, allowing us to use them on any NFT platform of our choice.
The tutorial begins with creating an account and logging in, which grants access to various features, including the files tab, collections tab, API keys tab, and import tab. Marsten demonstrates how to upload files, create collections, and import existing IPFS files and folders into Jackal Pin.
The key benefits of using Jackal Pin are highlighted, including geodistributed and triple-redundant file storage, making it an ideal solution for storing and pinning NFT art on IPFS.
In the second half of the tutorial, Marsten focuses on uploading NFT metadata to Jackal Pin, creating a collection, and linking the images to the actual NFT metadata. He shows how to copy the CID, replace the IPFS hash in the metadata files, and upload the metadata folder to Jackal Pin.
The tutorial concludes by demonstrating how to view the metadata collection on IPFS, ensuring that all files are viewable on other people’s machines, and how to copy the CID to use on any NFT platform.
Some interesting Web3 facts:
- IPFS (InterPlanetary File System) is a decentralized storage system that allows users to store and share files in a decentralized manner.
- NFTs (Non-Fungible Tokens) are unique digital assets that represent ownership of a specific item, such as art, music, or collectibles.
- The Jackal protocol is a blockchain-based technology that enables secure and decentralized data storage and sharing.
