Rendering using python allows you to automate or script rendering in blender. This video shows the simplest possible example of using a single command to start a render of the current frame, using the current render settings.

There’s a ton of customisation you can do to automate repetitive tasks, or run renders on a schedule, or do multiple shots, switching the camera between each shot.
